In today's episode we bring on long time friend of the show Zerrva! You can typically find him hanging out on our Discord server and he typically has some involvement with all of our ongoing online tabletop games. He also happens to be the biggest Final Fantasy fan in North America as far as we can tell.
We fully intended when we brought him on the episode to exchange D&D stories, but we spent some much time talking about video games that we never made it. I won't spoil the play by play but topics range from Final Fantasy, Borderlands, the fighting game community, and more!
Also make sure you follow Vic on twitch to see him go live with his first time play-through of Final Fantasy 7. It's really his first time playing it. Maybe it just wasn't popular in Canada?

Happy early Halloween everyone, in this episode Sarge is missing in action meanwhile Dielan and Victim shoot the shit as usual. Topics include but are not limited to:
That one time Vic did a 24hour charity stream
How our Planetside alt account outfit 2RAF just did the very same charity and raised $1500 for charity, congrats to them and everyone who participated. If anyone from 2RAF is reading this we are sorry for warpgating you on hour 16 from our NC main accounts
YouTube is at it again with egregious censorship
Spooky game trends on Twitch – what's it all about?
Hideo Kojima predicted the success of Genshin Impact years ago
and much more!
The day after recording this episode it became clear why Sarge missed the recording, he had actually flown to the area where Dielan lives and intended to crash the recording, but he fell asleep. Not nearly as cool as it could have been but it was still pretty awesome.
In today's episode we finally make good on our promise last episode to get back to focusing on video games and other nerd shit. We had a lot to say last episode and didn't get to it all, so we come out swinging shitting on Sony, AAA gaming in general, and beyond.
Topics contained within but not limited to:
We have highlights now! Check out bite sized clips of our show over at Odysee or on fedi at @dielan@tube.blob.cat
How the fuck are Canadians supposed to afford a PS5?
10grans isn't worth 25 cents anymore.......
Ranting about AAA games. How did the bar get so low? It isn't nostalgia
Matrix (the chat protocol) really isn't that bad anymore. Dielan explains.
Fuck Discord, also join ours.
Brief mention of Cards Against Humanity for some reason
Victim and Sarge discuss GENSHIN IMPACT. The Chineese action RPG featuring Gacha mechanics that has taken the world by storm. Victim has but double digit hours into this game during the first week (when this was recorded) and lays out the player experience, meanwhile Sarge gives his take on the fairness of the gacha with numbers and math, or something like that.
Dielan drinks a little too much Soju while listening to a lengthy explanation of Genshin Impact.
@Dielan@shitposter.club mentions in his rant about Matrix mentions that you should absolutely NOT create an account on Matrix.org's server to try it out. It is a bloated server where most of the accounts are. Which goes against the spirit of decentralization. Instead consider creating an account on blob cat maintained by @mewmew@blob.cat or on iddqd social maintained by @NEETzsche@iddqd.social, or if you are invested in this consider hosting your own server.
If you want to know more about Genshin Impact without playing it yourself (it is free after all) consider checking out Victim's Twitch stream or checkout a totally new streamer, and longtime friend of the show Jimmynoobtr0n.
We're back and we promise to spend more time talking about video games. In this episode we question Victim on his surprisingly deep context on vtubers – which Dielan and Sarge know nothing about. Before getting to that this episode contains but is not limited to:
In this very special episode of the Melonmancy Podcast we hear from special guest @Moon@shitposter.club and get in to two hours of rants, stories, and shenanigans.

Bitching about the flu
Bitching about GNU Social
Respectfully criticizing Mastodon as a committee
Bitching about Pleroma
Bitching about comic books
Bitching about movies
Bitching about superhero movies
Explaining why is Dielan's profile picture a spinning cacodemon
Explaining why Moon's profile picture is a Moomin in a hazmat suit
Numerous hilarious tales from shitposter.club's lengthy history
Many apologies and explanations ahead in this beginning of Melonmancy Podcast season 3. We are back to our regular recording schedule. New episodes every other Sunday.
There's no real show notes on this one we just kinda ranted. However I will tell you the topics covered include:
Why talking about politics on the internet is dumb
WTF is covid19 (hello future binging listeners from 2030!)
Dielan bought a house (really)
MP has been playing Planetside2 lately and we want to tell you exactly why
Vic bears it all regarding mobile games, 2D waifus, and JRPGs
We decided to just take December off because we were too busy to do any of this. Decided to reward you with an extra long episode. In here we are going to talk about our holidays, our choices for Game of the Year 2019, Game of the Decade, and other nonsense. We also spent a good chunk of time explaining what Mastodon is, and why it sucks since Twitter wants to get into the open social media standards space. See show notes for links related to that rant as there's lots of details in the rant that assume you read some of these to help it make sense.
(The official greeting of the Pastafarian winter tradition)
We were going to record last night, and the week before, but December is just a wash at this point. We are going to intentionally take a break and return in January! We'll be sure to recount how our holidays went.
Between now and then we will no doubt be found on our Discord server playing some Warframe, Planetside 2, and Age of Empires 2 DE. Feel free to hop in at this join link. Otherwise just
Been a while huh? In this episode it's just Dielan and Vic where we explain how Dielan got in a car wreck which delayed out episode for a while. We have a new recording schedule that should space out our episodes to something more managable and we explain that too. We also take some time to talk about The Game Awards, Death Stranding, Mortal Kombat microtransaction hell, how Vic lost $20 American on an Archage Unchained controversey, and much more.
